Gigs that we have had recently in some places…

2010.04.17

We had a gig in Islington, London on Monday. It was good. The first one for a while, and thanks to everyone who came – it was pretty busy for a Monday. All those crazy city types going out in their big city with their tubes and their Queen; you’re awesome.

I thought I would blog in a brief way about each gig, relying mostly on photos from my average quality phone. Yes.

Friday (16th April) The Boileroom – another gig this time in Guildford. Picturesque town, and the sun was shining off the cobbled streets. Noticed there were lots of salons and restaurants, so was good for fans of hair cuts and food. Cool intimate venue called the Boileroom, but not too intimate to be accused of harassment. Perfect in fact. They also served amazing noodles there. Crispy beef chili. Damn fine. 4 other bands were playing too so was a bit mental, especially in sound check, but were all really different. From beautiful 80’s dance to electric indieness and some sweet ‘No Doubt’ rockness. Milky and I enjoyed ourselves 10 fold.

Highlight of the night was meeting Lee, who was fan of the night. Signed our first autograph for him… Thanks for coming to watch us friend!

Ummm, just a little blog to say we had another awesome gig in London, at the Social, for Huw Stephens Introducing night.

Some things we enjoyed about the night:

  • Chatting to Huw
  • Tiny, cute stage
  • Concrete tables and chairs
  • Meeting all the city slickers
  • Meeting Y Promatics…they were nice
  • Accidentally stealing someones hoody…didn’t really enjoy this though, oops!
  • Accidentally stealing a keyboard stand, then returning it
  • Milky’s expensive snazzy John Lewis glitter. Went down a treat!
  • Some lovely comments after the gig
  • Awesome friends who travelled to see us. Yey!

Sweet times. Thanks Huw!

And everyone who has posted comments on our website! :D

P.S Little fact for you…Huw means ’soul, mind, intellect’. Nice.

Underage Festival

2009.08.03

On the 2nd of August was the Underage festival in Victoria Park. That’s in London.

Milky and I were asked by Radio 1 to do a set there so we thought; we shall.

We left at 5am and got to Victoria Park pretty early. We had our own dressing room, which was very strange. We also had a pile of free food inside, including a marrow and a bunch of carrots.

There was also a mini fridge full of beer. We downed every last one of them and went on stage blind drunk. So from here I can’t remember anything.

That’s a big fat lie, but we did eat some crisps.

Another thing was that the toilets had pictures of horses in. Amazing.

It was our first festival gig, so the main stage we were on was flippin’ massive compared to anything we’ve ever performed on. When we first went on to set up I couldn’t find Milky anywhere. But she was a tiny, distant figure on the other side of the stage. So I stopped panicking and we played our songs. The audience was great, but the only thing was that Milky didn’t manage to do her infamous crowd dive. Shame.

Got to say thanks to Radio 1 for the chance to play our music there – good times.

The photos are here.

George.

First Muchuu Party

2009.07.13

At the end of July we had our first ever Muchuu Party, woo woo!

We played in a big, old, magical house in the hills ***

I was very very very nervous because we’d only done 4 gigs before…3 of which were friends birthday parties…but it went down pretty well in the end!!

We had multi-coloured cupcakes, local beverages, lots of smiling friends, cool sparkly lighting and a DJ after we played.

I got to show the world my ‘Little Talking Scholar’ toy and my old ‘Speak & Spell’ in action, for the first time too :D

It was fuuuuuuuuun *

We want to have more parties…maybe…in a castle…or on a boat…or in a tree house…or under the sea…or in a secret garden…or on the back of Falcore from The NeverEnding Story!!

Any ideas anyone??

Over and Out,

Milky!
